We are delighted to welcome, all the way from Argentina, a great exponent in the art of tango, Martin Alvarado with the exquisite support of Gerardo Villar and the Los Aguirre's guitars.This will be amazing!
Martin is a world renowned tango troubadour who has been called the best voice Buenos Aires. His charismatic and unforgettable interpretations have led to an illustrious two-decade
career, 53 international tours, 11 albums and the National Academy of Tango in Buenos Aires declaring him as a Maestro in 2019. That honour has been complemented by various nominations in this year’s Premios Gardel awards.
Whether fronting a full symphony orchestra or singing for milongueros, he infuses every performance with warmth, colour, nuance and sensitivity. He is in the UK as headline performer at a major Latin American festival at the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic and is touring the UK for 11 days. Tango Alchemy in Bristol is one of just two milongas included in that tour.
He will be joined by the talented Gerado Villar and Los Aguirre guitar quartet, making their UK debut and providing an authentic sound of old Buenos Aires, with added 21st century flair. Gerardo has had the honour of performing with tango legend Nelly Omar and the quartet have performed at various milongas in Europe. This will be the first time they have performed in the UK.
